Promoting Student Engagement Using Technology

After initially developing this graduate student workshop in 2011, I updated the session in 2013 in collaboration with an OpenEd colleague from Teaching and Learning Technologies. With any discussion about incorporating technology to support student learning, my unstated outcome is that participants should be able to better evaluate and align a particular technology to their pedagogical goals. In this way, the discussion centres on student learning, where the technology is an effective means to an end (rather than the end itself).
