Example Course Outline: UNIV*6800

University Teaching: Theory & Practice (UNIV*6800) is a for-credit graduate course offered at the University of Guelph. I have had the opportunity to co-instruct this course for three years (2011-2013) while at the U of G.

As outlined, the overarching goal of UTTP is to foster the development of a lifelong interest in teaching and learning in higher education for students. Taking a learner-centred approach, we understand that we can not teach everything that is needed to know for a career teaching in higher education. As a result, we aim to facilitate the development of students as a critically reflective teaching practitioners so they can leave the course with the ability to integrate new practices that respond to emerging conditions in higher education.
