Engaging in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

Workshop, September 2013

Offered collaboratively through Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) and the Physical Science and Engineering Education Research centre (PSEER), this intensive workshop provided a forum for faculty members and instructors from all disciplines to explore their personal interests in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and the possibilities for initiating a SoTL project during the 2013/14 academic year.

Intended outcomes included:

  • Exploring the scholarship of teaching and learning as it related to your own teaching practice;
  • Developing an awareness of the ethical considerations and procedures related to SoTL; and
  • Creating a central research question and a plan for moving forward.
