		<description>Observations:  My literature search for melanomas in birds reveals at least 6 cases, dating back over 15 years ago.  They are rare, but occur.  Also, juvenile turkey vultures have a less red appearance to their heads than their older counterparts and if you press on the skin of a turkey vulture the skin blanches as if you have pressed the blood out of the vessels.</description>
