Today’s tweet digest 2008-08-31

  • Catholic mass (with a real live archbishop!) taking place at camp today. The archbishop comes with his own cigarette-smoking security dude. #
  • ODC ends tomorrow and staff are feeling it. Currently managing their apathy. #

Today’s tweet digest (2008-08-30)

  • Glorious end-of-summer day in Algonquin Park. Makes up for the 2:30 am bed time due to a late group arrival. #
  • Evidence of shorebird migration here at camp: two peeps flitting around the shore. And me without binoculars; these two go unidentified. #

Russia invades South Ossetia; Georgia decalres a state of war. Tom Clancy silent.

Russia? At war? Why hasn’t Tom Clancy already written a book whose narrative arc eerily echo these turns of events? I feel so lost…

P.S.: I thought we only had to fight wars against terror now. This seems waaay more complicated.

Torbutton extension deleting my Firefox 3 cookies

I was having a problem with Firefox 3 where all my cookies were being deleted each and everytime I re-launched the program. Luckily after some Google-fu, I found some other people having similar problems to my own. The solution? Deleteing the Torbutton extension. Seems to have solved my problems.

Ikea’s multipurpose bench

Copies of the new Ikea catalogue appeared in the apartment foyer today. I, like the automaton that Fight Club would suggest I am (So I wonder: what kind of bench defines me as person?), picked one up to have a leaf-through.

I opened the catalogue and found this kid on a Jasper bench. Is it weird that I also thought it could pass muster serving a dual purpose as a gaming bench and a gynecological exam chair? Yes, I suppose it is.

Bonus: Fight Club footage after the break.
