“Overall, the forest is pretty full, there is the odd leaf falling off the tree, but basically everything is still in tacked.”

Heather
89% Compatible Gavan and Heather have been romantically-together for a long time. That alone demonstrates a degree of compatibility. Being from different religious backgrounds may cause friction. They both drink, so there is no incompatibility there. Both are brainy, and that is a good thing. Their astrological signs are in harmony, [...]
And here are his puppy photos featured on the same site. I’m proud to say that Ollie has received 10.4 biscuits out of 11 with over a thousand votes!
David Foster Vists Niagara Falls,
originally uploaded by corbeau_du_nord.
I also noticed David Foster at the edge of the falls while looking for a Black-legged Kittiwake. See? Not only can I identify birds, but I can identify celebrities (a stretch, I know) as well.
Gavan Being Bad,

I went looking for gulls along the Niagara River today. I decided to go for an ill-advised swim…
Kidding!
In one of my other lives, I edit the book reviews for Canada’s pre-eminent academic journal on all things related to education for, by, in and about the environment (don’t worry, thankfully this is a description of the journal that I just made up and is in no way the official, well-worded one).
Anywhoo. Assuming [...]

Here’s a neat-o shot on Flickr from last week for us Torontonians who live lower than the 346m of the CN tower’s observation deck.
I’m just enjoying one of life’s pleasures: a cup of tea and a finger of shortbread. Anything that is 31% real butter (as the Walker’s shortbread package touts) can’t be wrong.
P.S.: I didn’t notice that my fingers slipped while I was typing and I added extra t at the end of “tea”. That would [...]
A statue walks the dog,

Here’s a recent photo of Ollie in Yorkville. It’s funny because there’s no way a statue could walk a dog. Ha!
Summer 1988: Camp Tawingo, I was eleven years old. The summer soundtrack? Gn’R’s Appetite for Destruction. I remember that waking up to the guitar riff of Welcome to the Jungle on a daily basis. It was a little shocking (especially the liner notes and Robert Williams’ robot rape). At the time, I think [...]
About me
I am an education researcher and practitioner, with a focus on higher education and the environment. I consider myself, above all, a naturalist. I'm the pack-mate of two border terriers. I live within the Speed River Watershed in Guelph, Ontario. I enjoy photography. I lead nature tours across North America. I teach courses on Natural History. I likely spend too much time on the Internet.
Oh, and the opinions expressed here are wholly my own.
